Composition

Each film coated tablet of Sensipod-CV 200 contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablet

Sensipod-CV 200 is prescribed for the treatment of

Post-surgical infection, Typhoid fever, Respiratory Tract Infections, Urinary Tract Infections And Otitis media.

About the drug:

Sensipod-CV 200 is effective in the treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-producing strains of bacteria.
Sensipod-CV 200 has a broad spectrum activity as clavulanic acid extends the spectrum of antibiotics to b-lactamase producing microorganisms.

MODE OF ACTION :

  • Cefpodoxime:Cefpodoxime kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis by binding to target proteins.
  • Clavulanicacid:Inhibit beta-lactamase enzyme and is used in combination to extend the anti-bacterial spectrum.

Dosage :

As directed by the physician.

It usually makes you feel better within a few days of treatment, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed completely and do not become resistant.

Usage Direction :

  • Sensipod-CV 200 tablet should be taken orally.
  • Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
  • Do not skip or stop the tablet without physician’s advice.
  • Do not consume more than the prescribed quantity.
  • Please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems.
  • Do not take Sensipod-CV 200 Tablet on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.

Side Effects of Sensipod-CV 200

Like all medicines, Sensipod-CV 200 tablets can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting are the common side-effects of Sensipod-CV 200. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

 

Storage

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Sensipod-CV 200 Tablet 10’s to prevent unpleasant side-effects.

PREGNANCY

Sensipod-CV 200 tablets belongs to pregnancy category B. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, your doctor will prescribe Sensipod-CV 200 tablet only if the benefits outweigh the risks.

BREASTFEEDING

CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Sensipod-CV 200 may pass into breast milk. Avoid taking Sensipod-CV 200 Tablet if you are breastfeeding unless prescribed.

DRIVING

Sensipod-CV 200 tablet may cause dizziness. Drive only if you are alert and omit driving or operating machinery if you feel dizzy.

LIVER

Dose adjustment may be needed. Please consult your doctor before taking Sensipod-CV 200 tablet if you have liver impairment/liver disease.

KIDNEY

Dose adjustment may be needed. Please consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding this or if you have kidney impairment/kidney disease before taking Sensipod-CV 200 tablets.

If you miss a dose of Sensipod-CV 200 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
